In the last years Elio Pastore has returned to produce, besides unique specimens on canvas, even serial graphics on paper for limited editions, and his interest is now directed towards a new symbolysme, that directly comes out from the virtual reality of the computer (3D) rather than from his photo clicks; mixing different types and different art genres as the figurative and fractal ones toghether with digital and traditional painting, with very good results.
From 1994 to 2004 he has led, contemporarily, an interesting research on the Fractal Art, entirely obtained with the computer through the generation of fractals, successively modified and elaborated pictorially according to his inspiration (see the page about the Introduction to Fractal Art).
"Till now the artist has used brushes, pencil and the gravel, but now he has the camera focus lens. The lenses are used as a tool, like the pencil and the brushes, because for the artist is not to use the technique but he uses his emotions and feelings" (Louis Figuier, La photographie au Salon du 1859, Hachette, Parigi 1860)
For his figurative works Elio Pastore uses his camera similar to a block-Notes, or as a simple sheet of paper where he takes note of the essential structure he his going to reproduce.
The tool used to create is the computer. Once the basic imagine is digitalized, he optimises it removing every element of "inconvenience" that is present, bettering the quality of the image till to re-construct an "ideal" scene.
From this point he proceeds with an elaboration strongly pictorial that often gives to the finished work of art an aspect very similar to a work made by hand (such as watercolour, pencil painting work).
Original works
From 1999 Elio Pastore started using new techniques and new stands realizing almost exclusively unique specimens on canvas, with mixed techniques (pigments ink, tempera painting, acrilyc).
In the last years he is adding some details on printed canvas painting by hand totally or only in part on the work of art.
The Serial Graphic works of art
For the graphics works of art Elio Pastore makes use of different supports: from rough paper for watercolour Fontenay or Fabriano that further brings out the pictorial aspects of the image, to the cotton paper or handmade paper; in the last times, thanks to the evolution of the material available, he mainly uses special watercolour paper Aristea or Canson.
He personally realizes limited editions that never exceeds the 20 copies.
In the period 1994/1995 he has also made the same subjects on lithography, taking are personally of the printing of the press.
